Bacteria Killing Effects of Chlorine Dioxide
Many research results home and abroad indicate that under extreme low concentration of 0.1mg/l, chlorine dioxide is capable of killing massive pathogens such as colon bacillus and Staphylococcus aureus. Even under intereference of organic substances, when the concentration is dozens of mg/l, it can totally kill microbes including bacterial reproduction agent, hepatitis virus, bacterial virus and bacterial spore. Moreover, bateria killing effect of chlorine dioxide is little affected by ambient conditions such as temperature, PH and organic compounds etc. Therefore, chlorine dioxide has been recognized as the new generation of broad spectrum and efficient microbicide.
Sterilizing Mechanism of Chlorine Effects
Stable chlorine dioxide can be activated to release dissociated chlorine dioxide, the instability of dissociated chlorine dioxide can release nascent state atomic oxygen; nascent state atomic oxygen has powerful oxidizing capacity, by oxidizing microbes, soluble part in bacteria cells (including enzyme system) to realize rapid inhibition for protein synthesizing, bacteria and virus killing purposes.
Toxicological Effects of Chlorine Dioxide
There are enormous experiments carried out in other countries indicating that chlorine dioxide is a secure and poisonousless disinfectant without "3 hazard effect" (lead to cancer, deformity and mutation), meanwhile, it does not go through chlorination reaction with organic substances to generate organic chloride or other poison substances during the sterization process.
