RFQ Details

We need bulk quantity of ice melt road salt or sodium chloride. It is used to melt the ice on highways and roads during the winter in North East USA.
Chemical Composition:

Not less than 95% sodium chloride in accordance with current ASTM-D-632

Size Grading:
Rock salt conforms to the following particle size distribution when tested using sieves as described in ASTM-C-136 (see A below).

Sieve Size Percent Passing (see B below)

1/2" (12.5 MM) 100%
3/8" (9.5 MM) 95 - 100%
No. 4 (4.75 MM) 20 - 90 %
No. 8 (2.36 MM) 10 - 60%
No. 30 (600 Microns) 0 - 15 %


A) A drying temperature of 100 degrees C+/- 5 degrees C should be used.

B) Tolerance of (+/-) 5% on each sieve except 1/2 " and 3/8" sizes, on which no tolerance will be allowed

Must be transported by ship to port in Buffalo, NY, USA. Shipped loose in bulk, not in bags.
