Being aware of the importance of industrial design in production , STEPPEN consists of a multi-utility model and industrial design registration hitherto. STEPPEN which had worked with the most reputable designers Inci MUTLU and Gamze AKAYƒ, has continued working with Umit ALTUN by the way commercial activity has been successful in the country and abroad. In ***8, STEPPEN which has led to many areas of sector, as a result of R&D, to advance environment friendly pens, began to use PLAs. PLA is produced from cornstarch waste and dissolves within **0 days in nature. As a result of first labours on the promotional products industry, the "Life Supported Products Series" and the brand called and BIOPENƒ was constituted. In ***8, as an indicator of concepts about environmental and social aspects, STEPPEN took a part subscribing United Nations Global Compact. STEPPEN has presented Progress Reports (COP) about the development process to stakeholders with this perspective. BIOPEN which is made of PLA and recycled paper, as from the day of meeting the consumers, attracted them with its eco-friendly qualifications, design and innovative features. Biopen won the Istanbul Chamber of Industry ***9 SME Eco-Friendly Product Award and has been appreciated by many institutions and organizations. STEPPEN ƒs investments in eco- friendly production and Manufacture Technologies, provided a permanent commercial and social cooperation. In ***0, BIOPEN which has created interest by wholesale stores chain METRO, in this way STEPPEN and METRO facilitated retail for consumers. In the same year by implementing a cooperation protocol, STEPPEN donated a percentage of net sales of BIOPEN to TEMA Foundation which is one of the most respected organizations about environmental protection in Turkey. In ***0, industrial designer Umit Altun created ƒSEED PENƒ, which has won awards many times hitherto. Seed Pen has been manufactured using bio-plastics and recycled paper. In order to consolidate life supporting product series, the three larch seeds were placed in a special division cover. This special design won , "Best Design Award in "Design Turkey ***0" contest " in the same year.. Later ƒ SEED PENƒ won "Creative Product First Prize" in "Stars of Export Competition" which has been organized by ƒDƒ‚nya Gazetesi ƒ. STEPPEN emphasized R&D efforts due to reference on products and production approach. In ***1, STEPPEN advanced biodegredable ( **3 year ) row material with anaerobic conditions instead of PLA and transformed all consumption (*0 ton per year) to eco-friendly products. STEPPEN obtained the innovation success from eco-friendly plastic products and in order to spread the innovation success in other product groups, STEPPEN has conducted studies to promote. As a result, STEPPEN developed the first pencil which is produced from waste newspaper. In the same year, within the environmental business model and social responsibility, STEPPEN has been selected to represent Turkey in ƒEuropean Business Awardsƒ competition in the field of environmental and corporate sustainability. Ongoing R&D efforts, STEPPEN added ƒBIOERASERƒ to product portfolio in ***2.. The Bioeraser doesn't contain hazardous materials and PVC. STEPPEN exports eco-friendly products to *1 various countries by advancing in Europe with sustainable eco-friendly business model and innovative structure.
