Electrolysis / Galvanic Reaction

Electrolysis or Galvanic Reaction is a common problem when aluminium is mixed with other metals in a wet environment, however because Spitfire Marine trailers are anodized after manufacture, this means even the holes are anodized.

Anodizing brakes the flow of any electrical current which is not of the elements necessary for Electrolysis or a Galvanic Reaction.

Economic Effective

In addition to the fuel saving benefits of towing a lighter aluminium trailer, the reduction in trailer weight allows for a greater payload carrying capacity which in many cases will keep the trailer within certain €Brake Requirements€ which in some cases may make an un-braked aluminium trailer a cheaper option than a heavier steel braked trailer carrying the same load weight.
