The original drug of herbicide cyhalofop-butyl is white crystalline solid with the molecular weight of **7.4 and boiling point of **3℃. And the chemical name for this product is butyl(R)**-[*-(*-cyano**-fluorophenoxy)phenoxy]propionate. This product has good solubility in most organic solvents, it is *7.3%in acetonitrile,*7.3% in methanol,*0.7% in acetone and *9.4% in chloroform, but it is insoluable in water. As an aryloxy phenoxy acid chemical, it has high level of security.
Absorbed by plant leaves and leaf sheath and conducted by phloem, it can accumulate in the plant meristem area and inhibit acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase and stop fatty acid synthesis. Because normal cell growth and division is halted and membrane system is damaged, the plant is killed eventually. The whole process can take normally **3weeks. At four leaves stage,buds atrophy can be abserved until death. And the change for old leaves at two leaves stage is very small to see. This product has better effect on grass weeds but invalid to sedge and broadleaf weed. Because it is highly toxic to aquatic arthropods, inflow of aquaculture sites is strictly banned.
