Alpha Cyclodextrin has hydrophobic cavities. It forms inclusion compounds with organic substances, salts, and halogens in the solid state or in aqueous solutions. It is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.

Regarding to the General usage of Cyclodextrins, The International Cyclodextrin Association sums up the function as the following:
