Application: Aramid pulp “Arselon” is an excellent reinforcing agent for friction pads of heavy-load vehicles and trains. Currently friction pads containing “Arselon” aramid pulp are being supplied to the leading Russian and Belorussian truck producers. Given examples are based on the knowledge we have. Properties: • specific gravity 1.*3 g/cc; • tensile strength **0 MPa min; • tensile modulus *0.5 GPa min; • continuous working temperature **0C (**0F); • maximum working temperature **0C (**0F); • fusion temperature **0C (**0F); • excellent “tribo” properties; • excellent electro-insulation properties; • very low level of flammability: no lame spreading; • oxygen index *0%; • high chemical stability/resistivity; • very low coefficient of fiber thermal expansion; • high adhesion to the matrix polymer.
