The Mega ***0 is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega***0 .It has *4 digital /output pins (of which *4 can be used as PWM outputs), *6 analog s, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), a *6 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset . It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started. The Mega is compatible with most shields designed for the Arduino Duemilanove or Diecimila.
The Mega ***0 is an update to the Arduino Mega, which it replaces.

1.Replace the ***1 version of ATMEGA8U2 with ATMEGA*6U2 chip, ISP FLASH capacity doubled, facilitate more powerful function expansion, development needs.ATMEGA*6U2 not only provide traditional USB serial port function, it also allow the user to define their programming with other functions, such as USB port can be configured to be mouse, keyboard, game rocker, camera and so on, of course, these applications are yet to be released by Arduino team 

2. The external interface increased the SDA and SCL(position in the top left of the AREF).IOREF interface can be provided to shield a voltage reference.And consider the furture products compatibility 

3. RESET circuit improved .Prevent accidental RESET, RESET circuit is more stable.
