α-β Arteether Injection is an antimalarial for treatment of multi-drug resistent falciparum malaria. It is an oily-soluble ether derivative of dihydroartemisinin isolated from the Chinese medicinal plant Artemisia annua L. 

α-β Arteether Injection must be given under aseptic conditions and is available for intramuscular injection only. α-β Arteether Injection is not recommended for the treatment of of malaria caused by P. Vivax, P. Ovale or P. Malariae.

The WHO does not recommend unconditional use of injectable formulations for the treatment of malaria and suggests that patients should only use injectables when they are unable to swallow tablets.
