Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS)

MDCS *3.1 AviTerm ver 1.0

Salient Features:

Kartographers MDCS *3.1 AviTerm ver 1.0 is an Automated Weather Observation system to monitor the current weather conditions at aerodromes. The data processing, archiving, presentation and notification capabilities can serve as a decision support system for the aerodrome operations. The MDCS data logging unit collects data from analog and digital sources and transmits the raw and processed output to the AviTerm Controllers.

The AviTerm application further processes and displays the Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Pressure, Humidity and Temperature, Runway Visual

The AviTerm Software comprises of Centralized Processing Unit that also runs the AviTerm Application for PC display Terminals. Additionally, two services run *4 x 7 to communicate with the MDCS data logging unit and perform data validations. These units collectively work to display the meteorological observations and their graphical representations onto various PC Terminals.

The AviTerm application runs on the Windows environment using SQL databases to assist in storing and distributing historical meteorological observations.
