Bonded Seals are used mainly in high pressure systems, which are based on a metal gasket of rectangular section to which an elastomeric ring of trapezoidal section is bonded. The bursting forces are resisted by the metal ring which limits the deformation of the vulcanised rubber element. Bonded seals are available in Imperial & Metric sizes.
A further
alternative is the Self Centering Bonded Seal which centrally
locates to eliminate any offset. Very important when higher
pressures are used.
