Ceftiofur Sodium for Injection
 
[Composition] Each vial contains ceftiofur 1g.
[Active Ingredients] Ceftiofur Sodium
[Presentation] White to grayish yellow powder or loose lumps.
[Pharmacology] Ceftiofur Sodium is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including β-lactamase-producing strains. Like other cephalosporins, ceftiofur is bactericidal in vitro, resulting from inhibition of cell wall synthesis. it uses a broad range of in vitro activity to fight a variety of pathogens, including Streptococcus, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Mannheimia haemolytica, E. coli, and Salmonella.
[Indications] β-lactam antibiotics. For the prevent and treatment of bacterial diseases in livestock and poultry. Such as bacterial respiratory tract infections in cattle and pigs and Escherichia coli and Salmonella infections in chickens.
[Usage and Dosage] Calculated as ceftiofur.
Intramuscular injection: single dose, 1kg body weight, pigs: 3-5mg, once a day for 3 days.
Subcutaneous injection: chicks: 1 day old, 0.1 mg per bird.
[Adverse reactions] The use of ceftiofur may result in some sign of immediate and transient local pain to the animal. 
[Precautions] The effects of ceftiofur on the reproductive performance, pregnancy, and lactation of cattle, swine, sheep, and goats have not been determined. 
[Withdrawal period] Meat: Pigs 4 days.
