New Conformity Assessment programme (Kenya, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Uganda, Syria & Kuwait) requires that ALL Consumer and Industrial goods with some exemptions; exported to above countries must be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) - the CoC would facilitate import clearance of your cargo in the ports. The new Conformity Assessment program is to guarantee that the goods exported to these countries are in conformity with the applicable International standards. Procedure for issuance of CoC : Exporter requests SGS for CoC Request for Certificate (RFC), Declaration of Conformity (DoC) along with Proforma Invoice, Packing List, Test reports, Specifications Copy of the Test Certificates SGS will review above documents with relevant / equivalent standards SGS sends quotation to exporter and exporter makes the payment for confirming inspection date SGS conducts inspection for visual checking of goods and verification of marking / labeling In case exporter's test certificate is not available a random sample to be taken for testing Samples to be tested in SGS / any other accredited Laboratory or testing to be witnessed by SGS Conformity assessment to be done against applicable standards and on the basis of the essential requirement When all the necessary requirements have been tested and if the test results are satisfactory, SGS will issue a Certificate of Conformity (CoC).
