Deep groove ball bearings are mainly used in radial loads application. It can also accommodate axial loads in both directions, in addition to radial loads, even at high speeds. On condition that exclusive radial loads are applied, its contact angle is zero. Deep groove ball bearings could work under heavy axial loads as angular contact ball bearings if they have adequate internal clearance. The low friction factor and high rotation speed limit enable deep groove ball bearings to operate better than thrust bearings, when heavy axial loads were applied.
