GreenLink announced the development of the next generation digital interface for the PC and CE market, the external DisplayPort™ Cable. There will be a latched cable version as well as a non-latching version DP cable with lengths of 1m up to *5m. This cable has the ability to deliver high-definition digital audio and video to the display in packet data format – allowing selective screen area updates and provides power saving features required for notebook applications. • DisplayPort v1.1 Compliant • Enable high quality optional digital audio transmissions • Apply embedded clock architecture to reduce EMI susceptibility • Support greater than QXGA (***8 x ***6) resolution at greater than **-bit color depths • Support existing VESA and Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) standards • Support hot plug and un-plug detection as well as link status-failure detection • Support reduced bandwidth transmission via direct drive over a *5 meter cable • Supports a minimum of ***0P resolution at *4bpp, *0/*0 Hz at *5 meters
