Alkanet Roots (Ratanjot)

SBZ Corporation have contribution in the export of Alkanet roots (ratanjot), alkanet root, alkanna. Botanical name of alkanet is Alkanna Tinctoria or Anchousa Tinctoria. Local names for alkanet are Ratanjot, Dyers Bugloss Root, Orchanet Root, Batschia Canescens, Hoary Puccoon and Lithospermum Canescens.

 

Alkanet Root is mainly used in dyeing and a dye ingredient. Alkanet roots are used in making lipsticks, lip balm, ointments, soap, tinctures, stones. Ratanjot also used as a combination with other herb extracts to treat cough and throat ache, infection, jaundice, cough and throat troubles.
