タイトルまたは説明

La Belle De Jouris an in-natura emerald matrix, a mineral specimen exquisitely encrusted with rough emeralds formations, with metal scents such as molybdenite incursions, granitoid gneiss and quartz on Schist, surrounded with natural emerald crystals that travel inwards, making it a remarkable work of art by nature. It was found to contain traces of several metals such as gold, chromium, tungsten, aluminum, zinc, nickel, etc. Truly a one-of-a-kind matrix!

The specimen was unearthed during a sunny day in Serra da Carnaíba, in the province of Bahia, Brazil. After more than an estimated **0 million years (Precambrian era) this beautiful large specimen of black schist containing 9 large emerald crystals clusters, green beryl and small amounts of molybdenite was extracted from a depth of over **0 ft. (~**0m). It was then baptized as La Belle De Jour due to it being the most beautiful piece ever seen, immediately admired by everyone that laid their eyes on her. It was purchased by EMPROGEO LLC in March ***8, and imported into the United States on March *7th, finding in Miami Florida its new temporary home.

Its former home Serra da Carnaíba is a Precambrian emerald deposit site, found in a typical geologic setting with Archean basement and supracrustal, ultramafic, granitoid and rocks. Volcano- sedimentary series occur as imbricated structures or as bodies affected by complex folding and deformation. Emerald mineralization belongs to the classic biotite-schist deposit, which formed by the reaction of pegmatitic veins within ultrabasic rocks (G. Giuliani, L. J.H.D. Silva and P. Couto).

This region is famous for basically only two other findings of such rare formations, being it the (in)famous Bahia Emerald evaluated as much as **5M USD, and most recently an unnamed matrix evaluated in **0M Brazilian Reais (~**1M USD).

Please note that the dimensions given are approx. both in imperial and metric system. Following definitions are helpful to understand the technical descriptions made in this report.

Matrix: In geology, the material in which something is embedded, either the natural rock that holds crystals, fossils, pebbles, mineral veins, and the like.

Schist: Megascopically crystalline rock that has a highly developed schistosity, or tendency to split into layers. Banding (foliation) is typically poorly developed or absent. Most schists are composed largely of platy minerals such as muscovite, chlorite, talc, sericite, biotite, and graphite; feldspar and quartz. The specimen in this report is described as a black schist due to its high black mineral content, most probably biotite (iron rich brown-black mica) and other dark colored minerals.

Prismatic: Mineral crystals that display a uniform cross-section.

Euhedral: A fully formed mineral crystal.

Anhedral: A mineral crystal with no external faces.

Emerald: Green variety of minerals species beryl (Be3Al2(Si6O*8) containing trace amount of chromium (Cr) and/or vanadium (Va) as cause of color.

Green Beryl:Another green variety of beryl containing iron (Fe) only as cause of color. It is much more commonly found in nature, green to slightly yellowish green, and lacks the bright bluish green tone of emerald.

The Specimen is a large black matrix containing prismatic non-terminated emerald crystals, massive green beryl and anhedral molybdenite crystals. The specimen measures approx. *0" (~*0.8cm) x *4.5" (~*6.8cm) x *5" (~*8.1cm) overall, and *4 (~**7cm) at its longest circumference. It weighs a solid **6 lbs. (~**6.2kg). The size of large emerald crystals ranging from 6.5" (~*6.5cm) to 2"(~5cm) length, and widths varying from 2.5" (~6.3cm) to 1" (~2.5cm).

Crystal No. 1: A few intergrown prismatic emerald crystals with green beryl base and black matrix
inclusions, none displays termination. Approx. measurements are 4" (~*0.2cm) x 2.5 (~6.4cm). The luster is glassy with some crystal faces showing growth lines.

Crystal No.2: Prismatic emerald crystals are intergrown within a larger anhedral green beryl, largest one is approx. 2.*5" (~7cm) x 1" (~2.5cm). No termination is observed. The cluster is next to a few anhedral molybdenite inclusions.

Crystal No.3: A cluster of prismatic emerald crystals measuring approx. 6.5" (~*6.5cm) x 1.5" (~3.8cm) is next to a smaller anhedral emerald approx. 1" (~2.5cm) in diameter. This piece is entirely opaque with an obvious color zoning at the top. The right side of the crystal cluster displays a more distinct prismatic crystal face compared to the rest.

Crystal No.4: Three emerald crystals grown together with green beryl. The cluster measures approx. 4" (~*0.1cm) x 2" (~5cm).

Crystal No.5: Three grown together opaque crystals displaying color zoning, measuring approx. 2.*5" (~7cm) x 1"(~2.5cm).

Crystal No.6: Opaque, intergrown with green beryl at the base where it's attached to the matrix. It
measures around 5"(~*2.7cm) x 2" (~5cm) and is covered by very small, l*2mm long, needle-like black crystals at the top. The crystal displays a break and natural healing structure in the middle.

Crystal No.7: This larger opaque crystal displays the least luster of all with lower saturation of
green. It measures around 3.*5" (~9.5cm) x 1.5" (~3.8mm).

Crystal No.8: This smaller single crystal attached to a green beryl base displays the best color and
the luster of all. Linear growth lines on the crystal surfaces parallel to c-axis are visible. It measures 1" (~2.5cm) x 0.*5" (~1.9cm).

Crystal No.9: Two parallel grown opaque to translucent crystals displaying color zoning with some
black, small, needle-like crystals as inclusions at some surfaces. The top crystal measures 3.5" (~8.9cm) x 2" (~5cm) and the lower one 3.*5" (~9.5cm) x 1.*5" (~3.2cm).

A remarkable Specimen. Such rarity is extremely coveted by private collectors, museums, universities, etc. There will never be another specimen equal to ; perhaps another one—though equal—will only be unearthed the next **0 million years. Who knows? -One thing we do know: whoever acquires this beauty of nature, will acquire along with it a piece of time, a piece of wonder, a piece of Earths history, that will leave anyone mesmerized by it!
