This printhead is the new DX7 head model released by Epson after ***4. It is encrypted and it is compatible with new printhead control boards installed on printers after the end of ***3. In order to determine whether you need a new or old DX7 head model, you should check the 3 letters printed under the head ID of your old printhead: if it start with Fxx or bellow, you must use old heads only (PPHEP****1O), if it starts with Gxx or above, you should run new heads only (PPHEP****1).
