General
 
 
The FT***0 series is a clamp-on type ultrasonic flow meter based on transit-time measuring method, designed for accurate and reliable measurement of flow rate in full pipe applications.
 
 
It can be applied to the pipe size from 2 to **0 inch diameter. However, measurement of smaller and larger sizes is also possible on request.
 
 
 
Basic measuring principle
 
 
The transit-time method uses a pair of transducers sending and receiving ultrasonic signals across the flow stream. Fluid flowing causes a time difference between the transit times of signals traveling upstream and transit time of signals traveling upstream and downstream, so the velocity of the flow is accurately measured by the difference in the arrival times of the signals.
 
 
Measure Flow from Outside the Pipe
 
 
Using clamp-on flow transducers, the FT***0 measures flow rate through metal, plastic or even concrete-lined pipes without penetrating the pipe wall. Transducers are pipes without penetrating the pipe wall. Transducers are not in contact with the medium and are therefore ideal for measurement on chemically aggressive, corrosive or ultra-pure media. With the clamp-on technology, retrofitting on the existing installation is very easy and can be made without cutting into the pipe and without process interruption.
 
 
Remote Access via Mobile
 
 
Phone Technology
 
 
A GSM option is now available for the FT***0 series offering remote access to up-to-date flow data. Comprising integral GSM communications technology, the new module makes it possible to request and receive a variety of information from any location receive a variety of information from any location simply using a mobile phone, eliminating the need for regular site visits. Using simple commercially available SMS Gateway solutions, the automated SMS meter readings can also be received, decoded and exported to an existing billing application or database to provide real-time usage information.
 
 
Optional Internal Datalogger
 
 
The FT***0 series also contains an optional integral data logger which records flow rate, totalized flow and flow meter working status as well as time and date. By implementing MMC technology it offers a large capacity of logging data over months and even years.
 
 
A handheld data transferring device is provided to download logged data from the flow meter to a download logged data from the flow meter to a memory card. The card is inserted into a card reader attached to the USB port on your computer and files is copied to local hard drive. Visualization and analyzing of the recorded data is done using the included, windows based software package.
