Fructosyl Amine Acid Oxidase (FAO, EC1.5.3. X) is a kind of
oxidoreductase, which can catalyze the oxidation and decomposition
of fructose amine acid specifically with fructosyl amine acid as
substrate, and produce hydrogen peroxide, glucoaldehyde ketone and
corresponding amine acid. Fad is a family of D-amine acid oxidase
with fad as coenzyme. Its fad domain consists of 4 α helices and 2
β folds. Its catalytic activity is substrate specific.
Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) glucose is formed by specifically
modifying hemoglobin with valine residues at the N-terminal of
hemoglobin β - chain. HbA1c can reflect the average blood glucose
level of human body in recent 3 months, and is not affected by the
fluctuation of blood glucose concentration. It is the gold standard
for monitoring management and control of diabetic patients.
Biochemical research: as the core catalytic enzyme of HbA1c enzyme
detection kit, FAO can specifically oxidize the amine acid
glycosylated at the N-terminal to generate H2O2, which is coupled
with the corresponding color source to generate signals under the
