Fused magnesia-alumina spinel, using alumina and high purity light-burnt magnesia as main starting materials, fusing in electric arc furnace and cooled, is a new kind of purity synthesized refractory raw material. Fuses magnesia-alumina spinel is characterized by high bulk density, good thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. It is testified that, addition of fused magnesia-alumina spinel can improve the slag resistance and thermal shock resistance of refractory products, fabricated parts and monolithic refractories. The Fused magnesia-alumina brick, high performance nagnesia-alumina castables, sliding nozzle, lining brick for ladle, slide plate for continues casting, nozzle block and roof brick for open hearth furnace, which can improve the thermal shock resistance. It is the ideal material to replace magnesia-chrome refractories.
