1.Description:
A transient voltage suppressor or TVS are avalanche diodes designed specifically to protect other semiconductor devices from voltage spikes induced on connected wires.Their P-N junction have a much larger cross-sectional area than those of a normal diode,allowing them to conduct large currents to ground without sustaining damage.It is a clamping device,suppressing all overvoltages above its breakdown voltage.
