Description: The Iron sand (Fayalite)- from the flotation of copper concentrate and waste.
Fayalite is powder material with a very low copper content but high content of iron and silicon dioxide in the form of minerals, mainly fayalite, magnetite, quartz, etc. The material density is about 3.6 g/cm3.
Fayalite is used in the cement industry as a ferrous additive. It can also be used in other areas of construction and as an initial raw material in iron production, glass industry (manufacture of glass, quartz, etc..).

Flotation Plant
The sludge from the smelting plant and the converters formed as a result of the smelting process are processed in a flotation plant in order to extract the remaining copper.
The technological process is controlled and managed with an automatic system. The flotation method of enrichment is used, where two products are obtained:
copper concentrate, which is returned back to the smelting production process;
fayalite (iron sand), part of which is stored in a depot in a tailing dam built according to the latest European standards.
