Maca Root (Lepidium meyenii Walp.) is a root that is native to South America and has been used throughout the region for hundreds of years, and is now known throughout the world.  

Traced back to the native Incans, this root was a staple of their supplemental diet.  Known then as a aphrodisiac and reproductive stimulant, it was not only used, but often times controlled and available only to certain levels of society. 

The European's were introduced to the product in the mid****0's and the product began spreading through their trade circles around Europe and even into Asia.  

But it was not until the *0th century that the product became popular.  It was so popular in the late *0th century that it almost became extinct. 

The product is now cultivated and wildcrafted and therefore sustainable.  Much scientific data has been gathered for this root, and it has been granted safety status in many markets in the west. 

Product is available in whole, cut, powder and extract form. it is packed in *5 kg bags or boxes and new harvest occurs in June.
