Tuna in oil is less dry but is higher in fat. The label very rarely indicates the precise species, but in the United States, only albacore tuna can be labeled as "white meat tuna." Cans of bluefin and yellowfin tuna must be labeled "pale meat." Bonito tuna must be mentioned on the label by name.
