My Special Tree

This is the story of a young girl torn between what the heart wants and what one needs to do as an adult. The story is about a tree that helps her meet her goals in life and conquer her dreams only now her dream job requires her to tear the tree down. With a heavy heart she agrees but then perseveres to stop it from happening. The story has many lessons and the illustrations vividly help tell the story!

The many lessons include the idea that one person can make a difference and that dreams can come true especially through hard work and determination.

In our changing world, I thought it was important to make the character a strong female to provide some more emphasis that women can do anything! I thought this was especially important to portray in parts of the world where often times the value and expectations of women are minimized.
