Neuraminidase (NRH, EC3.2.1.*8) is a common name for
acetylneuraminidase (sialidase). The enzyme catalyzes the
hydrolysis of N-acetylneuraminic acid residues linked by α **3, α
**6 and α **8 bonds of glycoprotein and oligosaccharide.
