Purified Copper used in microelectronics, the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, the atomic industry, the defense industry, etc.

One define the level of purity by content of core element. Also, purity of copper denominates by percentage and can be defined as a difference between **0% and the sum of supervised admixtures.

Supervised admixtures the list of elements, measured into a sample, in order to define the level of purity.

Wider the list of supervised admixtures lower the level of purity, expressed in percentage of content of core element. Herewith, the purity of product is constant, but the result defined in percentage of content of core element changes.

Methods of analysis also plays a role on the level of purity expressed in percentage of content of core element. Not all of the methods can equally and deeply measure controlled admixtures.

For instance, with just one method its possible to measure a group of elements with limit <0,1ppm and the part of different elements with limit <2ppm. In addition, due to peculiarity, different methods  analysis can show different results on the very same element.

Variety of standards can define supervised admixtures. The most common standard in Russia is GOST (ГОСТ) *******1 (All Union State Federal Standard). Europe and many other countries normally use technical condition sign Cu-OFE or others. Also, supervised admixtures can be agreed between consumer and manufacturer. Usually parties define not only the list of supervised admixtures, but the ultimate content of some of these admixtures.

GOST *******1 and technical condition sign Cu-OFE describe requirements for purified oxygen free copper. According to this list of supervised admixtures guarantees the level of copper purity *9,*9%  Using standard technologies it is almost impossible to reach result higher than *9,**7%, in other words, the sum of admixtures according to the standard list less than *0 ppm. Individual results could be higher than *9,*9% , but guarantees not less than *9,*9% or no more than **0 ppm of admixtures.
