Plastic scintillator was a special material, which exhibites scintillation property of luminescence when excited by inoizing radiation, it has been widely applied in the detection of alfa, beta, gamma-radiation and fast neutrons, and the versatility of plastic scintillator was the ideal choice for large area shaped detectors in customs inspection, nuclear plants etc.

EPIC developed the plastic scintillator with polystyrene as based material, the regular dimensions include *0mmx**0mmx***0mm(*5L), *0mmx**0mmx***0mm(*0L), while rods at diameter *0mmx***0mm length, the surfaces were wrapped by aluminium foil and black vinyl, which was for reflector and light shielding sheet purpose respectively. And the 0.5mm thickness, even smaller plastic panel with Zinc Sulfate(ZnS) coating was available as well.

The typical property that counts per second(cps) was obtained at *0,**0 by coupled with Hamamatsu R***4 PMT and using **5kBq Cs**7 source for *5L`s plastic scintillator(*0mmx**0mmx***0mm) , which was competitive among the manufacturers in both domestic and oversea markets.
