PT***1 contains Dynamar FX made from Dyneon/3M which is a free-flowing fluoropoly- mer based processing additive. It is designed to improve processing of filled polyolefin resins especially for blowing films with low melt index LLDPE and HDPE. PPA can be used at low levels to reduce extruder die build-up when processing polyolefin resins. And it can also produce films and other articles of improved strength and quality. As a processing additive Dynamar can reduce or eliminates melt fracture and can reduce extruder torque. The use of PPA masterbatch may allow an increase in output and yield films with enhanced physical properties on available equipment. When processing resins with PPA, the benefits may not be noticed immediately. Once enough resin with PPA has been processed to coat the surface of extruder die, effects like elimination of melt fracture and stable die pressure will be increasingly apparent. A suggestion by using PPA masterbatch has been given to start out with higher let down of PPA until the extru- sion equipment is thoroughly cleaning. The time will last couple of hours. Our suggestion is to start with PPA masterbatch at the let down of 5%, then shift to 0.8%~1.0% after couple of hours.
