EECP/ECP therapy is short for Enhanced External Counter-pulsation, it's a USFDA approved, non-invasive , out patient treatment . 

How EECP/ECP works 
The EECP/ECP system consists of three sets of inflatable pressure cuffs wrapped around the calves and the lower and upper thighs, including the buttocks, as the patient lies down on the table. In synchronization with each cardiac cycle, obtained with an integrated 3 electrode single channel ECG , the cuffs are sequentially inflated from the calves to the buttocks during diastole to produce an arterial retrograde flow towards the aortic root to increase coronary blood flow. EECP/ECP simultaneously increases venous return to raise cardiac output. The cuffs are deflated  simultaneously before the onset of systole to provide and empty vascular space reducing systemic vascular resistance in the lower extremities to receive blood ejecting from the heart, significantly reducing the workload and oxygen demad of the heart.

EECP/ECP therapy enhances the body's ability to create new pathways for blood flow around clgged arteries. also greatly accelerates the formation of tiny blood vessels called collaterals helping restore healthy circulation to organs and tissues that have the deprived of blood and oxygen , in other way can promote angiogenesis and establish collateral circulation.
