Because of the cultural differences, the language issue, communication problems, a different social system and different business culture and practice, managing the relationship with your Chinese suppliers is not easy.
It is important that the relationship between you and your supplier should be on equal ground, without any arrogance. Suppliers should be considered in every instance and never with indifference. Orders should never be cancelled without notification and they should be compensated for any losses which are not their fault.
If suppliers are treated fairly they will do their best for you. Suppliers in China may refuse to supply businesses who treat them unfairly because they have other suppliers lined up. This can result in the development of a bad reputation among Chinese suppliers. These relationships can become tough and intense. There are also arrogant suppliers who don't care to respond to your orders and you should have other suppliers that you can call on.
There must be mutual cooperation between companies and suppliers or you will achieve nothing. As partners in the Chinese market place you can help each other grow.
