The AirPrime SL**8X modules offer high-speed dual-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (up to 3.6 Mbps downlink) and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE network access in the same standard *5 X *0 mm LGA form factor as the AirPrime SL***7.
The AirPrime SL**8X modules support Sierra Wireless Open AT Application Framework, a complete software package for embedded M2M application development allowing the development and hosting of the application on the module. OpenAT offers a range of readily available building blocks which accelerate the application development process allowing you to bring products to market faster and reduce development costs. This application framework consists of an M2M-specific operating system, a range of software libraries, and an integrated development environment based on Eclipse™ .
The SL*0xx also support Sierra Wireless Watcher, a simple and easy to use connection manager which minimizes installation time, supports a fast connection experience, and reduces the number and duration of technical support calls, enhancing customer experience and reducing costs.
