SBS styrenic thermoplastic elastomer is the largest production SBCs (more than *0%), lowest cost, wider application of a variety, based on styrene and butadiene monomer tri-block copolymer, both properties of the plastic and rubber, is called "the third generation synthetic rubber." Similar to SBR, SBS can be in contact with water, weak acid and alkali, with excellent tensile strength and surface friction coefficient, good low temperature performance, excellent electrical properties, good performance and processing characteristics, becoming the largest consumption of thermoplastic elastomers.

SBS owns thermoset rubber in processing applications incomparable advantages:

(1) Equipment used for processing thermoplastic molding, such as extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, forming faster than conventional rubber vulcanization process;

(2) Without curing, eliminating the need for general processing of thermoset rubber vulcanization process, and therefore less investment in equipment, low energy consumption, simple process, short processing cycle, high production efficiency, low processing costs;

(3) Plus angle than expected for multiple recycling, conserve resources, are environmentally friendly.

2).Application:

 SBS is widely used in various industry applications such as footwear and compounds, modification of asphalt and plastics, adhesives, and so on. 

1, SBS molded products mainly used for shoe (sole) industry.

2, extruded products are mainly used hose and tape.

3, as a resin modifier, a small amount of SBS were polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS) 

 blend can significantly improve the low temperature properties of the article, and impact strength.

4, SBS as a binder with the characteristics of  a high content of solids, fast drying, low temperature.

5, SBS as asphalt and road construction bitumen modifiers can be significantly improved weathering resistance and load performance of asphalt.
