Blending ingredients with high powered blenders can get tricky some times. You could get stuck. Then what? Use your hand or a fork? What if you touch that blade when it turns, or your fork...? It's dangerous.

Some blender companies like Vitamix and JTC Omniblend or Montel offer their blenders with tamper sticks, aka accelerator tools. Vitamix calls it accelerator tool because it is supposed to accelerate the blending process. Blendtec says their blenders are so great, so no tamper may be needed.
