Teach children always to use a ladder to get up and down from the top bunk beds.  Teach your children to climb the ladder only when facing the stairs. While it may look easy for them down  facing out into the room, it is safer to face down the ladder and hold on to secure. Caution your children not to jump on the bunk beds (never) – either in bed or down. Bunk beds are not designed for it.
