Vinpocetine is a semisynthetic dericative alkaloid of vimcamine, a substance found naturally in the leaves of the

lesser periwinkle plant(Vincaminor), and also can be synthesized from tabersonine, an extract from Voacange

Africana Seed.

Vinpocetine is available as a prescription drug in Europe and Japan. In the United States andCanada, it's sold

in health food stores and online as a dietary supplement. Vinpocetine is widelymarketed as a supplement for
