Inflatable rubber dam is made of high-strength synthetic fabrics and compound rubber, anchored in the concrete foundation to form a sealed air bladder inflated with water or air in dry seasons to store water. In rainy seasons, water or air inside of rubber bladder would be discharged to help release floodwater from river course. Compared with common civil works, the advantages of rubber dam are less engineering budget, shorter construction period, extended service life, simplified maintenance and improved vibration resistance. Rubber dam can be adjusted at any height and overflowed so it is widely used for irrigation, power generation, flood control and urban landscaping in many areas.
The rubber sheet for the dam tube is made by calendaring and vulcanizing canvas and rubber material. The canvas serves as the force-bearing frame of the dam, and is made of chinlon *6 with high strength, good flexural stress resistance and excellent adhesion function. The rubber connects and projects the canvas layers, and is distributed in outer-layer, middle-layer and inner-layer.

Type of rubber dam
Rubber dams are divided into air inflatable type and water inflatable type according to the medium filled.
Water inflatable rubber dam:
The water inflatable rubber dam does not need fill water frequently in summer.
It can adjust the height of dam to store water according to the different seasons.
In summer, the dam filled water can lower the temperature of dam tube to extend its service life.
Air inflatable rubber dam
Air inflatable rubber dam has advantages in cold region, and it will not be frozen in winter.
In summer, the pressure inside the tube changes with the outside temperature. The air inflatable dam needs to inflate or deflate frequently, and the operation is relatively complicated.

The dam tube has various forms: arc rubber dam, pillow-like rubber dams, inclined rubber dams and fin rubber dams.
