*2 HYDROXY STARIC ACID - END USE APPLICATION

*2 Hydroxystearic Acid (*2 HSA) is an off-white, high melting solid fatty acid produced by hydrolysis of Hydrogenated Castor Oil with a melt point of approximately *7°C. It is insoluble in water. *2 HSA is non-toxic & non-harzardous, partially soluble in number of organic solvents and insoluble in water.

*2 HSA is used in production of lithium and calcium based lubricating greases, synthesis for complex chemicals. When it is reacted with an ester, *2HSA provides a hard finish for the automotive and small appliance industries.

**-Hydroxy Stearic Acid finds applications in a wide variety of uses.

As an internal lubricant for moulding of plastics
Aqueous & non aqueous coatings for automotive, equipment, appliances and architectural applications
As a shrink resistant treatment for wool
As coating liners for the interior of metal food and beverage containers
Aviator and internal lubricant for natural and synthetic rubbers
As a theology modifier for Inks
In the manufacture of specialty chemicals such as esters, ethoxylates sulfates etc. for plasticizers, textile, cosmetics and metal working operations.
