The fruit of Aronia has a diverse chemical composition and is rich in vitamins and minerals, which ranks this plant species in the list of particularly valuable medicinal plants.
From macronutrients Aronia contains calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron (1.2 mg %), and from trace elements a record amount of iodine, manganese, molybdenum.
An important feature of Aronia is its high content of all essential vitamins that enhances their biological activity. This is a good example of the so called Synergistic effect (two or more things operating simultaneously and together give a bigger result than the result of the same things operating separately).
