Characteristics of Complex Partial Box Girder

â¦ The complex partial box girder (CPB) method compensates for the shortcomings of steel that is vulnerable to compression by forming a plate girder-shaped cross-section in the center of the span and applying a double composite cross-section with concrete, a material that is highly resistant to compression.
â¦ In the center of the span, an I-shaped cross-section with excellent resistance to bending was added to the cross-section to compensate for the shortcomings of the tendency to be over-designed when designing with a steel box girder to enable efficient design.
