This experimental apparatus is designed for the following purposes:

 

1. Understand the generation principle of Hall effect in semiconductors

2. Derive Hall coefficient and its secondary effects

3. Learn how to measure Hall coefficient and electrical conductivity

4. Calculate carrier concentration, conductivity, transfer rate, and prohibited bandwidth of materials

 

Using this apparatus, the following experiments can be conducted:

 

1. Measure the relationship between Hall voltage and Hall current and plot Hall voltage-Hall current curve

2. Measure the relationship of Hall voltage with magnetizing current and plot Hall voltage-magnetizing current curve

3. Measure the magnetic field distribution along X direction

4. Measure the magnetic field distribution along Y direction

 

5. Measure the magnetic flux density B

6. Measure the permeability of electro-magnet core
