The product is light yellow or red-brown oily liquid; it will gradually turn into brown color when it is exposed to sunlight or air. The density of the product is 0.987-0.994g/cm3, the melting point is -57℃, the boiling point is 196℃, 156℃ (250mm Hg), 86℃ (15 mm Hg) and 79.2℃ (10 mmHg). It is soluble in the organic solvents such as ethanol, ethyl ether and chloroform while it is insoluble in the water.
It is used as important raw materials of pesticide Buprofezin and Mefenacet, it is also used to made cationic dye and as intermediates in the course of organic synthesis. It is used as antiknock agent in the plastics and rubber industry. It has wide applications in the field of petroleum additives.
