1. Place one bin bag into the plastic bucket, **3 litre bin bag will be suitable for this dustbin. 2. Open two battery compartments at the bottom of the lid and insert four AA type batteries. 3. Turn on the power switch at the bottom of the lid. The red indicator light will stay on for 3 seconds, and then flash once every three seconds to show it is in working order. 4. When you need to open the bin hold your hand about ****0cm above the infrared panel. The lid will then opens automatically within 0.5 second, and close again automatically within 5 seconds of moving your hand away. If you do not move your hand away the lid will stay open.
