The Kaplan type turbine(also called axial flow turbine) is mostly suitable for hydropower stations with medium or low head. The Kaplan type turbines manufactured by the Bochi can be divided into fixed blade and rotating blade(double regulated Kaplan turbine) according to its structure. The fixed blade type is mainly used for small hydropower plant with medium and small capacity, small variation in load. While rotating blade type is mainly used for hydropower plant with medium and big capacity, big variation in load.

The Kaplan type turbines manufactured by Bochi are ranging from 2 to *5m in water head, 0.2 to **0MW in capacity and 1 to 7m in runner diameter.
