Norsocryl® ADAMQUAT® & MADQUAT® Cationic Monomers ADAMQUAT® MC *0: Acryloxyethyltrimethyl ammonium chloride Norsocryl® ADAMQUAT® MC *0 Description Cationic monomers are produced by quaternisation of Dimethylaminoethyl(meth)acrylates with methyl or benzyl chloride. Arkema’s range of cationic monomers is offering in aqueous solutions the most used acrylic cationic monomers. Norsocryl® ADAMQUAT® MC *0, Norsocryl® ADAMQUAT® BZ *0 and Norsocryl® MADQUAT® MC *5 monomers are particularly useful to produce cationic hydrosoluble polymers or to bring cationic functionality to an hydrophobic polymer. Copolymerisation between these Arkema Cationic monomers and acrylamide is the source for cationic polyacrylamide largely used as flocculating agents for waste water and sludge in domestic and industrial water treatment stations (food industry, slaughter-houses, paintings, paper machine…). Cationic polyacrylamides are also used in the wet end process for paper manufacturing. Norsocryl® ADAMQUAT MC *0 is the acrylic cationic monomer offering the highest cationicity, which is especially well adapted for the manufacture of very high molecular weight polyacrylamides in powder or inverse emulsion form.
