TP**3 Slot Truck Plug 1) Truck plug original made from Australia liquip company is used for overfill protection with added ground assurance. Industry standard *0 pin overfill protection plug is interchangeable with others of the same type, however incorporates no-cost wiring connectors which ensure the tanker is bonded to the gantry so long as the plug body is correctly mounted. 2) This dissipates static electricity and prevents sparks due to differences in potential. TP series provides standard *0 pin connection for tanker system with room for an electronic dummy should this be required in a *-wire operation. 3) All of the above is normal. 4) Where TP series differs is in the way it ensures good grounding of the tanker to the gantry and ensures dissipation of static electricity and so eliminates sparks. Hence the name "Ground Boss". 5) It has long been a recommended practice to break the number *0 common earth return and "force" it through the tanker frame by terminating and bolting the wire through the tank at a distance apart to ensure grounding of the tank. However the difficulty in doing this cheaply and neatly has meant that only a few tankers use the technique. 6) "Ground Boss" achieves this at essentially no cost by using the mounting bolts inside the plug. Internal insulating bushes ensure the only electrical path is via the external fastener, ***** those bolted to the tanker: and the number *0 common earth wire is run from pin *0 to one bolt head and from under the other bolt head via conduit to the probes. 9 and *0 are simply looped together if required.
