If components in expired air are determined selectively, tasks of noninvasive diagnostics, assessment of disease course and effectiveness of treatment of diabetes mellitus, tuberculosis, oncologic and other diseases can be solved. We propose to develop the device Diabetes Sensor (DS), which will provide selective and sensitive determination of acetone in expired air. Achieved level. The DS developmental prototype is created. It passed the tests in hospitals with fifty healthy and ill people. The DS of the existing design selectively determines acetone in expired air with the sensibility of *0 mg/m3, but this sensibility is not sufficient for medical practice. Doctors and patients will be satisfied by analysis sensibility of 1÷5 mg/m3 that will be achieved in the DS, which is proposed to be developed. Size of the DS for individual use will be comparable to size of a mobile phone.
