Description

D-ribose is white crystalline powder with cool and refreshing sweet taste. It has large solubility in water. D-ribose comprises the backbone of RNA, a biopolymer that is the basis of genetic transcription. It is related to deoxyribose, as found in DNA. Once phosphorylated, ribose can become a subunit of ATP, NADH, and several other compounds that are critical to metabolism. Its excellent performances enable D-ribose to be used in the synthesis of vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), tetra-O-acetyl-ribose and nucleoside and also acted as health products in sports and as food additives in food applications.
