About Vinpocetine
Vinpocetine is a semisynthetic dericative alkaloid of vimcamine, a
substance found naturally in the leaves of the lesser periwinkle
plant(Vincaminor), and also can be synthesized from tabersonine, an
extract from Voacanga Africana Seed.
Vinpocetine is available as a prescription drug in Europe and
Japan. In the United States and Canada, it's sold in health food
stores and online as a dietary supplement.
It is used as a drug in Eastern Europe for the treatment
ofcerebrovascular disordersand age-related memory
impairment.
